The epitome of classic British 2-Tone and Ska, Madness take the cake as one of the most prolific and exceptional bands to come out of the 70′s and 80′s. In a time of political, social, and economic upheaval, Madness made music that was politically minded, unbelievably danceable, and exciting to listen to. With their recent appearance closing the 2012 summer olympics, Madness has come back into the forefront of British music. And for damn good reasons. Despite the change in political issues, their music retains its cultural relevancy. While the issues may not be strictly black and white anymore, the themes of 2-Tone Ska are stll applicable, and the music is just as fun to listen to (if only these youngsters would give it a go).
